Newcastle Upon Tyne Chiropractor :: Cathy Turnell
I First Saw The Power of Chiropractic When I was 16
I first saw the power of chiropractic in action when I was 16 years old and my Mum very badly damaged her back. I vividly remember how she could barely walk upright without great discomfort and how she relied on me to be nearby to help her get about. After trying various different approaches she visited a chiropractor and within a week she was confident and comfortable enough to start gardening again, one of her favourite activities. Although I hadn’t visited the chiropractor to see what the chiropractor did, or had chiropractic explained to me in any way, the extreme visible contrast in my mothers mobility and health spoke for itself. This experience planted the first seed in my mind about the amazing healing abilities of the body through chiropractic without the need for drugs or surgery.
Becoming a Chiropractor
An interest in the workings of the human body caused me to study Biochemistry and Physiology at Cardiff University. After finishing my first degree the idea of becoming a chiropractor was still at the forefront of my mind. I completed the masters level chiropractic course at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2006.
Since graduating I have enjoyed helping people from lots of different backgrounds from farmers to Olympic synchronised swimmers and from babies who are just a few days old to people in their mid 90s! Although originally from Solihull in the Midlands I have lived in the lake district for 4 years and have grown to love the north of England for its friendly people and for the beautiful countryside and walking opportunities it gives me.
